Over the past few months, we’ve looked at creativity from a number of perspectives… what it is, how we nurture it, the muse which inspires it… this week, we just wanted to have some fun and share with you the results of creativity — Halloween style!

Halloween is such a fun, creative time of year. More than any other season, it seems that people are getting into the spirit (pun intended) of it more and more. As a kid, I don’t remember houses being decorated beyond a few embellishments around the front door. Now, it seems we’re going all out, often with large, elaborate displays. I drove by a home close to our office the other day to find that a huge spider web had appeared overnight, complete with an 8′ rather menacing looking spider ready to carry off its prey. I’m pretty sure an arachnid of that size could handily overcome my Honda Civic without straining any of its 8 hairy legs.

Frightening or fun (and sometimes frightening IS fun), there is lots of room for creativity to burst forth during this season.

Our 0ur friend Bill Chalmers (you’ve seen samples of his painting prowess), gets right into it as well. We asked if we could share a few of his ghoulish creations. At the end of this blog post is a video that we know you’re gonna want to see… don’t miss it!

Here’s a video of a very talented sculptor and pumpkin carver, Andy Bergholtz. It’s a time-lapse of him carving the image of the “Joker” into a pumpkin. It’s only a couple of minutes long… enjoy this wonderful display of creativity!
