Monica Lewinsky has recently been very visible in the news and social media. Her TED Talk, entitled “The Price of Shame,” in which she discusses the impact of bullying and shame on identity, has been trending for the past couple of weeks.
In this blog post, Lynn Sumida talks about how our identity is shaped by externals… name calling, criticism, judgement as well as the environment in which we grow up and live. For anyone who has been impacted by an onslaught of negativity, the effect can be devastating. Lynn identifies core elements that underpin identity and which are essential to our sense of well-being.

I heard that Ted talk after our workshop, Lynn and I must admit all that you described here and during the workshop was ingrained in my filtering of her talk. I applaud her for her courage and tenacity to move forward and beat the shame she claimed back then. it seems she is indeed moving forward with evolving grace
