RN PACU, FT at Los Alamos Medical Center summary:

The RN PACU at Los Alamos Medical Center provides direct patient care in the post-anesthesia care unit, performing clinical treatments, medication administration, and patient monitoring following nursing standards. This role involves collaborating with healthcare teams to coordinate care, educating patients and families, and advocating for patient well-being in a supportive, safety-focused environment. The position requires a nursing degree, relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS), and licensure to deliver quality care in a community hospital setting.

This position includes a $30,000 Sign-on Bonus for twenty-four-month FT commitment

LAMC is also offering a housing allowance of $1,000, grossed up, for up twelve months for this position for a new hire who relocates

This position provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Responsibilities include:

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree or bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) current upon hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)/ENPC must be obtained within six months from hire or transfer into position. Newly graduated RNs must have current BLS upon hire, must obtain ACLS and PALS/ENPC within six months from hire. New hires will have ninety (90) days from date of hire to obtain American Heart Association certifications. Notwithstanding this €˜grace period' for obtaining American Heart Association certifications, employees are not excused from being current in all existing certifications that are required for their position as outlined in the position job description.
  • Licenses: Current NM RN license or appropriate RN compact licensure.
