SAIC is looking for a Software Engineer to support the BRAVE project in San Diego, CA . The Battle Ready Autonomous Vehicle Enabler (BRAVE) program is investing in the development of autonomous capabilities for swarming autonomous amphibious systems to support U.S. Marine Corps’ amphibious expeditionary warfare. The Navy Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific is performing amphibious autonomy risk reduction, research and development, and system integration in the areas of human-machine interaction, low-level control, and reactive control. NIWC Pacific is designing a drive-by-wire solution to be installed on a fleet of developmental platforms. This is a Hybrid/Remote role in San Diego, CA. Must be local to the area.

JOB DUTIES:

The candidate shall perform software engineering design and development activities for the BRAVE program to produce reliable, modular, and secure software components. Software engineering activities include the specification, design, development, and review of software modules that function as part of the autonomy software and the user interface. The candidate shall be fully knowledgeable of, participate in, and help manage the agile software development process and activities with the Government to define and implement software modules in computer programming languages including C++, Python, and Kotlin. As part of an agile software development team, the candidate shall capture requirements, analyze requirements, document requirements, discuss requirements, and build to requirements. Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's and Two (2) years or more of software related experience. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start. Experience in Android Application development using Android Studio and Kotlin. Fluency in C++ or Python, preferably both. Experience as a full-stack developer, showcasing an understanding of system design and software architecture.

DESIRED SKILLS:

Experience with ROS2 and Linux. Experience with containerization and automation tools (e.g. Docker, Ansible). Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML).
