Field Service Mechanic

Fort Worth, TX (Barnsco FTW Location)

$30–$35 per hour + potential monthly bonuses

Full-Time

Barnsco Texas is seeking an experienced Field Service Mechanic to join our Fort Worth team. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on construction equipment at customer job sites and Barnsco locations. If you take pride in quality work, customer service, and working independently in the field, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

• Travel to customer job sites to diagnose, service, and repair construction equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on Barnsco rental and customer-owned equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to determine root cause and complete repairs efficiently
• Inspect and maintain forklifts, tractors, trailers, and related equipment
• Maintain service vehicle, tools, parts inventory, inspections, and driver logs
• Communicate clearly with customers, Service Manager, and Service Coordinator regarding repairs and timelines
• Complete in-house repairs when field service calls are not pending
• Read and interpret schematics and utilize computer-assisted diagnostic tools
• Respond to after-hours service calls as required
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in field service construction equipment or rental equipment maintenance
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and understand schematics
• Experience with computer-assisted diagnostics
• Must own a basic set of industrial tools
• Valid and current driver’s license
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb on/off equipment, and perform physical job duties
• Professional demeanor with a strong sense of urgency and customer service focus
