As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world—that is the myth of the atomic age—as in being able to remake ourselves

President, Director of Training

Sixty was a great age and now as I move towards seventy I am even more grateful for the career I’ve had and the opportunities I’ve been given to help others. As President of miruspoint Facilitators Inc., and in my roles of Facilitator and Director of Training, I’m committed to bringing more light into this world. I believe one of my strengths is blending compassionate insight and pragmatic wisdom. I’m known for my directness and I believe clients know this is coming from a deep place of caring and a desire to help, as quickly as possible. I love synthesizing things, bringing diverse ideas and strategies together, and I draw on my wide-ranging experience in the worlds of counseling, consulting, training and management. Thirty years in private practice and extensive experience training other professionals in North America and abroad, gives me a wealth of first-hand knowledge to draw upon.

Following my Masters degree in Social Work I worked first in a teaching hospital and then for the Child Guidance Clinic, working as a school clinician. This included work with children and teens, parents and teachers. Later in my private practice I specialized in working with sexual abuse, trauma/loss and relationship issues. As a trainer in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, I’ve incorporated these tools into my work with “victims” of trauma which culminated in the development a model for healing trauma and abuse called Coming Full Circle. This work with trauma and abuse had a profound and indelible impact on the development of Prime Potential.

I studied with Dr. William Glasser and his ground breaking psychological theory called Choice Theory. I became a Senior Faculty for William Glasser International, teaching this theory and its practice in many countries and loving every minute of it. I’ve embedded Choice Theory’s precepts into Prime Potential, imparting a deep understanding of internal motivation and personal responsibility for all behavior. I also co-authored with Donn Smith, The Extraordinary Within: Welcoming Change and Unlocking Our True Essence, a book containing the account of the early development of the concepts that formed the foundation of Prime Potential.

Leading miruspoint is exciting and challenging. It is a joy to have the opportunity to work directly with clients, do research and development, teach other professionals, and develop programs for groups and individuals. The next few years will be focused on the implementation and distribution of a group program to assist organizations and groups in their evolution, working on a youth leadership program that will “pay forward” the benefits youth can offer to their communities and finally, offering support to those in key roles of leadership.
