If you’ve been following the blog, you’ll know that a couple of weeks ago I was in Nelson with my friend and colleague, Bill Chalmers, participating in a painting workshop.
What an wonderful experience! We both came back home to Vancouver with some very impressive pieces, and as always, the process was filled with excitement and discovery.
I invite you to take a few moments to watch the video we’ve produced… I’m sure you’ll find it interesting!
Important Note… At least we think it is…
Oh, and I recognized later that I said it was the final blog for August… that’s not quite true. We shot the segment during the last week of July, intending for it to be released that on that Friday. There were some audio problems, however, which took a few extra days to sort out. So… sorry for any confusion. We’ll be back next week with another installment. Stay tuned!
I’ve just realized that I’ve been assuming that if I’m in the flow and living from my authentic self then the result / outcome will be of the highest caliber. But the kicker is – highest caliber – that’s a standard set by my ego and I’ll never reach it (even if I do reach it my ego will change the definition of “highest caliber” and I’m left wanting).
When I’m competing in my event and I’m out of flow, I can’t stop and rest and go to bed and restart another day such as described in the video blog. However, the key point from the blog on this is to surrender to not being in the flow! The ego house of cards will collapse in the face of surrender. It’s important to feel surrender not merely think that you’re surrendering. Internalize the surrender, it’s not a task to be done but an experience to have. Where do you feel it? How do you experience it? What do you notice after you’ve done it?
Three cheers for Hot Mama Lynn and Big Daddy Chalmers! Great blog post! You two are so full of creative inspiration! Big Wow!!
Love you,
Hugs
